Principles
These aren't marketing values. They're the constraints every Synovis product has to satisfy before it ships — and the reasons we say no to things that would otherwise be easy to add.
The device you're holding is the source of truth. The app opens, edits, and saves without a network. Sync is a service layered on top — never a gate in front of your own data.
Your notes, tasks, and references are stored as plain, portable files whenever possible. Import and export aren't features; they're the natural state of things. Nothing you write is trapped by the tool you wrote it in.
If a server sees your content, it should see ciphertext. Our sync layer treats user data as opaque bytes: no plaintext, no server-side reading, no analytics on the inside of your notes.
Personal tools that only work on one device aren't personal enough. We plan for phone, desktop, and web together and treat parity as a design constraint, not a follow-up.
We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't use engagement tricks. The business model is the product: if it's worth paying for, people will pay.
A tool that does one thing precisely beats a suite that does ten things approximately. We resist feature accretion — every addition has to earn its place against the cost of the tool feeling bigger than it is.
